Bushing design trends: The evolution from tradition to innovation

What Are Bushings?

Bushings are tiny pieces used to ensure smooth functioning of machine parts. Initially, they were largely produced from robust metals such as bronze and brass, which are dense yet tremendously hardy. We only used these metal bushings for big machinery: Examples would bushing include cars and factory equipment. But these days, we use lighter materials, such as plastic and composite materials, to make bushings. Many of these machines can now use bushings, rather than just the larger machines. This broadens the versatility and usability of our injection mold products for a wider range of customers.

How Bushings Are Changing

Historically, we were purely about producing durable bushings that do not break. We wanted them to be super-strong. However worm screw today, thanks to new technology and inventions, we can create bushings that last longer and perform better in a wider range of conditions. Modern bushings need to be light weight, smooth, and be able to withstand wear without distortions. This is interesting because lighter bushings can make machines more efficient and help save energy.
